Nollywood actress Ini Edo has caused a stir online as she storms a birthday party in Ghana shortly after burying her father.
Kemi Filani reported in February that the movie star had announced the death of her father, Elder Edo Jonathan Ekim.
A day ago, the movie star and her siblings laid him to rest in his hometown of Akwa Ibom. Rita Dominic, Ruth Kadiri, Nancy Isime, Lilian Afegbai, Uche Jombo, Real Warri Pikin, Desmond Elliot, and IK Ogbonna attended the burial.
Just a day after his burial, Ini Edo had stormed Accra, Ghana, for the 40th birthday of one of Ghanaian’s billionaire businessmen. Also in attendance at the party were Rita Dominic and Ramsey Nouah.
Videos from the party, which are making rounds online, left some slamming the actress for not mourning her father properly, while others defended her.
One Albert Nat Hyde tweeted, “Ini Edo buried her dad just yesterday and was all teary. Less than 24 hours, she’s already on a plane to Accra to attend? RNAQ40 birthday party. All the tears were never real? Serious disregard for the dead for a few dollars”.

Since her divorce from her ex-husband, Ini Edo has kept her relationship life private.
Ini Edo was once married to Edo businessman, Philip Ehiagwina in 2008, but the marriage hit the rock in 2014. The movie star has since welcomed a child through surrogacy.
In 2023, it was alleged that the movie star was in a relationship with her colleague, IK Ogbonna. Confirming it, Ini had poured out her heart to IK on his birthday, calling him her King and love, she praised him for his unique qualities and prayed for him.
In May, last year, rumors made rounds that Ini and IK Ogbonna were reportedly engaged, and were planning their wedding in London.
Despite being unmarried, Ini Edo welcomed her first child, a baby girl, through surrogacy. Opening up about it in an interview, she revealed that the eggs belong to her; hence genetically, the baby is her blood. However, Ini Edo failed to disclose the sperm donor stating that her baby’s peace of mind is paramount to her, and it is an incredible feeling being a mother. Speaking on motherhood, she described it as an awesome feeling.
