Simple Steps on How to Retrieve Your Lost YEIDEP Code

We’ve been receiving numerous inquiries about how to retrieve a lost YEIDEP code, and we’re here to help! If you’re in need of assistance with recovering your YEIDEP code, this post will walk you through the process. Read on for everything you need to know!

Important Information About YEIDEP Code Retrieval

Before getting into the steps to retrieve your YEIDEP code, here are a few Things to know about Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP):

  • Old vs. New Portal: The YEIDEP code was only issued to applicants who registered on the old portal, NIYEEDEP. If you registered on the new YEIDEP portal, there is no code required. So, there’s no need to worry if you don’t have a code!

  • Bank Account Creation: According to the management, if you have already created your YEIDEP bank account, you don’t need to be concerned about the YEIDEP code. You’re all set!

  • Bank-Specific Requirements:

    • Some banks, like Fidelity Bank, don’t require the YEIDEP code to create a YEIDEP account online.

    • However, if you’re using Keystone Bank, you will need the YEIDEP code to complete your account registration online.

Important Update: No Specific Bank Directives

Previously, YEIDEP directed applicants to specific banks for account creation, but this process has changed. The new portal now allows applicants more flexibility, and you can choose your bank without being tied to a specific one.

  • Data Transfer & Account Creation: Once your data is submitted, it will be transferred to the bank, and your account will be automatically created. You’ll receive an SMS notification with your account details.

  • Finalizing Account Registration: After receiving the SMS, visit the nearest branch of your chosen bank to complete your registration. You’ll need to upload sensitive documents such as your passport photo, BVN, NIN, etc., for verification.
