It’s time to introduce an important Hulk character in the MCU, and one Marvel star knows it. Allthough Marvel Studios has introduced dozens upon dozens of world-famous and obscure characters by now, there’s still a long list of Marvel Comics figures that have yet to appear on-screen for the first time. Nova, Spider-Woman, Beta Ray Bill, Squirrel Girl, Quasar, and Captain Britain are only a few of the most notable examples.
Hulk’s corner of the MCU mythos remains particularly unexplored. Characters like Betty Ross, Samuel Sterns, and Leonard Samson are part of the franchise, but they have barely had the same impact as the supporting characters in other heroes’ stories. Other characters like Rick Jones, Caiera, and Brian Banner are yet to appear despite being essential to Hulk’s mythology.
Shang-Chi Star Simu Liu Wants Amadeus Cho To Make His MCU Debut
The Totally Awesome Hulk Would Be A Great Addition To The MCU
At a San Diego Comic-Con 2025 panel hosted by Popverse, Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu was asked which Marvel character we would like to see make their MCU debut in the near future. Liu didn’t hesitate to respond with Amadeus Cho, who Liu described as “a new-generation Hulk, Korean-American. Very cool.” Indeed, Amadeus Cho is none other than the Gamma-fueled successor to Bruce Banner, having claimed the mantle of Totally Awesome Hulk in 2015.
Amadeus Cho started his journey as one of Marvel’s brightest young geniuses. However, it’s his transformation into the Totally Awesome Hulk that marked a major turning point, as he embraced his Gamma gift with confidence and style, unlike Bruce Banner’s tortured struggle. Amadeus later evolved into Brawn, a dependable powerhouse on Earth’s hero roster.
Amadeus Cho is also a core pillar of Kamala Khan’s Champions, where he serves as both muscle and strategist. As the MCU quietly assembles a Young Avengers/Champions fusion, Amadeus Cho feels like a natural addition. Brawn could easily complement or even replace the yet-to-debut Hulkling, rounding out Marvel’s next-generation ensemble.

Amadeus Cho’s MCU Debut Would Answer 1 Big Question
Ten years ago, Claudia Kim’s Dr. Helen Cho played a pivotal role in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Her Regeneration Cradle saved Hawkeye’s life and enabled Vision’s creation, yet her fate remains unknown. Introducing the Totally Awesome Hulk (or Brawn) would answer what happened to Helen and give the MCU a youthful genius-hero whose debut would celebrate Amadeus Cho’s two decades of comic book history.
Amadeus’ arrival would also revitalize the MCU’s expanding Hulk mythos, which is unlikely to receive another solo installment soon. As the Totally Awesome Hulk, Amadeus Cho could form a Gamma-family dynamic with She-Hulk and Skaar. In crossover movies, Amadeus could be a new-generation Hulk alongside his own version of the Avengers, the Champions.
Amadeus Cho could also find a natural home in the MCU’s Agents of Atlas, especially considering the franchise already has its Nick Fury–style leader in Randall Park’s beloved Jimmy Woo. If not in the Champions, Amadeus could serve as the Agents of Atlas’ resident powerhouse and scientific prodigy. Other heroes like Wave and Marvel Rivals breakout character Luna Snow could be just as well-received.
