Nelly & Ashanti Hit With Cheating Rumors Days Before Show Debut—But Is It All Cap?

Just when things were looking picture perfect for Nelly and Ashanti, a cheating scandal tried to crash the party—and honestly, it’s giving clout-chase chaos more than credible tea.

Here’s the rundown: Nelly and Ashanti, the early 2000s it-couple who found their way back to each other after years of on-again, off-again love drama, are now officially married (since late 2023) and recently welcomed their baby boy, Kareem Kenkaide Haynes, in July 2024. Life seemed like a beautiful R&B love song—until a wild cheating allegation hit social media just before the couple’s new show is set to drop.

A woman using the Instagram handle @niyahhsymonee stirred up the internet when she claimed she had a sexual encounter with Nelly just two weeks ago. Her comment? Bold. Vulgar. And full of laughing emojis. “He had me s*****ing two weeks ago,” she wrote, followed by, “but to the internet they the perfect couple.”

Whew. The timing? Convenient. The receipts? Nonexistent.

... got picked up by gossip blogger Tasha K, who amplified it on her Unwine With Tasha K platform—instantly throwing the couple’s fans into speculation mode. Was this really happening again? Not even a full year after Ashanti gave birth?

Well… not so fast.

Another woman stepped in—@angelantionette—claiming her photos had been stolen by the account making the accusations. And she came with facts. Her profile has been active since 2015, with stories and posts spanning five-plus years. It didn’t look like a throwaway account. It looked legit. In her comments, she was quick to shut everything down, saying, “This is a FAKE ACCOUNT USING MY PICTURES. Stop believing everything on the internet.”

Shortly after, the fake account disappeared into the digital abyss—deactivated or deleted, leaving behind nothing but a messy screenshot trail and a lot of confusion.

So what are we left with? A viral rumor, no real proof, and a couple who seems to be thriving—personally and professionally. It’s giving internet stunt. It’s giving PR distraction. And it’s definitely giving somebody wanted attention just before a new show dropped.

To be clear: Nelly and Ashanti have weathered their share of drama. Their love story spans decades, with enough ups and downs to fill an entire R&B album. But this time? It looks like someone tried to remix their happy ending with fake drama—and flopped.

Until there’s real evidence, the vibe remains: unbothered. Ashanti is glowing in new mom energy. Nelly’s looking proud and present. And unless someone comes forward with more than a messy comment and stolen selfies, this rumor belongs exactly where it came from—the recycling bin of the internet.

Moral of the story? Don’t let a fake page steal your joy—or your storyline.
