Sokoto Approves Early Payment Of February Salaries Ahead Of Ramadan

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu has approved the early payment of February salaries to workers in the state ahead of this year’s Ramadan fasting period.

Naijaonpoint reports that the governor gave the approval on Thursday, February 12, 2026, with payment scheduled to begin on Friday, February 13, 2026.

This was revealed in a statement issued by the Director General of Media and Publicity at the Government House in Sokoto, Abubakar Bawa.

The decision is aimed at helping civil servants prepare well as Muslims begin the holy month.

The early payment will cover employees in the State Civil Service, workers in all Local Government Councils, staff of the Local Government Education Authority, and pensioners across the state.

Governor Aliyu called on workers to respond positively to the gesture by showing greater dedication to their duties.

He urged them to be regular at work, committed to their responsibilities, and sincere in carrying out their assignments in their various offices.

According to him, such efforts are needed for the government to meet the needs and expectations of the people of Sokoto State.

The governor also restated his administration’s resolve to build a strong and effective civil service that will serve the state better.

He said his government remains focused on improving service delivery and ensuring that public institutions work efficiently.

He further thanked residents of the state for their steady support and prayers for his administration.
