Nollywood actress, Juliana Olayode has shared her personal experience on maintaining celibacy while pursuing her acting career.
Naijaonpoint reports that the actress, known for her role in Jenifa’s Diary, spoke about her struggles through a post on her Instagram page, revealing that staying celibate is not as easy as many people assume.
She explained that there are moments when she feels the urge to be intimate with men but chooses to resist because of her commitment to God.
Juliana said that her decision to remain celibate also affects her professional life, as she carefully considers every movie role offered to her, especially those that require intimate scenes.
She explained that her values and faith guide her choices, even when the pressure from both personal desires and the entertainment industry becomes intense.
According to her, living in a world filled with moral temptations makes it harder to stay committed to purity, but her love for God keeps her determined to uphold her principles.
She wrote: “Sometimes I just want sex, I want to get laid. when people talk to me about sex purity etc. I wonder if they think I don’t have blood flowing in my veins. It’s not that I don’t want to be touched, it’s not that I don’t want to have all these feelings/desires. It’s not that I don’t cuddle, it not that I don’t want to be kited, it’s would say to me. Not that I don’t want to have a “hot sex” like some.
“It’s just that more than anything I love and honor God!. And I hate to hurt Him. Everyday I have to make a choice, apart from my relationship with the opposite sex and sometimes same sex. Because sadly, we live in a world full of perverts. I have to make a choice in my career as well! Should I take the role or should I not take it?.”
