Activist, Omoyele Sowore, has released evidence indicating that Nigerian lawmaker, Ned Nwoko, might have married his estranged wife, Regina Daniels, before she turned 18.

In a post on his Facebook page, Sowore claimed that Nwoko married Regina while she was still underage and travelled with her out of the country soon after she turned 18.

Sowore stated this while reacting to the lawmaker’s claims that he married Regina when she was 21 and not 17.

Nwoko had shared a voter’s card of Regina to back his claim.

However, in his post, Sowore shared a picture of Regina’s passport to show that the actress was not 21 when she got married to the lawmaker.

He wrote, ‘’Senator Chinedu “Ned” Nwoko Senator @nednwokoforsenate of the @apcnationalsec may believe he can outsmart the public, but the record tells a different story.

“Evidence NOW in the public domain shows that he entered into marriage with Regina Ojeogwu Nnaemeka Favour @regina.daniels when she was still a teenager, and the couple later travelled abroad to the UAE (Dubai), soon after she turned 18.

“Ned Nwoko personally handled her travel documentation for that trip, according to accounts from those familiar with the matter to celebrate her 18th birthday.

“The same Senator Prince Ned Nwoko, long known for flaunting wealth and influence, has frequently used the now disgraced @NigeriaPoliceForce to intimidate and detain members of his estranged wife’s family and others speaking against his well-documented impunity.

“This pattern of harassment must stop.

“People with immense political power and questionable fortunes use state institutions as private weapons.

“Justice must mean accountability, even for the rich and well-connected. Impunity must end.”

“To back up his claim, Sowore posted photos of as passport procured two years before marrying Nwoko and another one she procured years after she got married to the lawmaker.”
