THE Super Eagles of Nigeria will earn $10 million if they win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in Morocco.

The tournament kicks off today with the hosts facing Comoros and will end with the final on January 18.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Dr Patrice Motsepe yesterday announced that the winners of the 2025 AFCON will receive $10m as prize money.

The announcement was made following a meeting of the CAF Executive Committee (EXCO) in Rabat, Morocco, a day before the kick-off of the tournament.

The prize money for the winner represents a 43% increase from the 2023 edition, when hosts Cote d’Ivoire pocketed $7m after beating the Super Eagles in the final.
The winners of the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon received $5 million and with the figure having doubled to $10 million in 2025, it marks a 100% increase over a four-year period.

The runners-up of the Morocco 2025 AFCON will receive $4m, while the two semi-finalists get $2.5m each.
