Super Eagles forward Umar Sadiq may be on the move again, as fresh reports from Spain suggest that Deportivo Alavés and newly promoted Elche have expressed interest in signing the Super Eagles striker, Footynaija.com reports.

The 28-year-old centre-forward spent the just-concluded season on loan at Valencia, where he scored five goals in 16 La Liga matches, helping the club maintain their top-flight status.

However, Valencia did not include a purchase clause in the deal, and Sadiq has since returned to Real Sociedad, where he is no longer part of the club’s future plans.

As revealed in a report by Complete Sports Nigeria, both Alavés and Elche have already made contact and are exploring a possible loan move for the Nigerian international.

Elche, who are back in La Liga after gaining promotion, are believed to be very keen as they look to strengthen their squad with proven attacking options.

Sadiq is under contract with Real Sociedad until 2028, but the club has said he is available for transfer. While other reports indicate that Qatari clubs have also shown interest, the striker prefers to stay in Europe and continue competing at a high level.

His current market value is around €5 million as per Transfermarkt, making him an affordable option for mid-table La Liga sides. Elche appears to be positioning themselves as a serious contender for his signature, especially with the player reportedly open to relaunching his career in Spain after a mixed spell at Sociedad.

The Kaduna-born striker has previously featured for clubs like AS Roma, Bologna, Rangers and Partizan Belgrade, and he brings with him a wealth of experience across European football.
