Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho recorded his first clean sheet of the season as Omonia Nicosia edged Apollon 1-0 in the Cypriot First Division, Footynaija.com.

Making just his fourth league appearance this term, Uzoho played a key role in preserving Omonia’s narrow win at the Neo GSP Stadium in Nicosia.

The 26-year-old produced five vital saves to deny Apollon an equaliser, helping his side to three hard-earned points.

Brazilian midfielder Ewandro Felipe netted the game’s only goal in the 57th minute, a strike that ultimately proved decisive. It marks a strong response from Uzoho, who had previously conceded six goals across his last three outings—three of them in the reverse fixture against Apollon on 1 April.

Meanwhile in Italy, several Nigerian forwards were among the goals in both Serie A and B.

Ademola Lookman continued his impressive form for Atalanta, scoring in their commanding 4-0 win away at Monza.

It was the forward’s 14th Serie A goal of the campaign — his best-ever tally in a single league season, surpassing the 13 goals he scored in his debut campaign with Atalanta last year. The goal also ended a brief drought, with his last strike coming against Juventus in March.

In Serie B, former youth international Orji Okwonkwo salvaged a point for Cittadella with a second-half equaliser in their 1-1 draw at Frosinone. It was his third goal of the season.

Elsewhere, Simy Nwankwo opened his account for 2025, scoring off the bench in Salernitana’s 2-0 win over Mantova.

The powerful forward now has 39 goals in Serie B, making him the third-highest scoring Nigerian in the division’s history — behind only Osarimen Ebagua (62) and Jerry Mbakogu (43).
