Support Mutfwang to succeed, APC forum urges new Plateau Speaker

The Forum of Stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has advised Mr Na’anlong Daniel, the new Speaker of the Plateau House of Assembly, to support Gov. Caleb Mutfwang to succeed.

Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, the North-Central Chairman of the forum, gave the advice in a statement on Thursday in Jos.

The News Agency of (NAN) reports that Daniel on Wednesday emerged speaker of the assembly, following the resignation of Mr Gabriel Dewan.

Dewan, who was speaker for over one year, was elected under the platform of Young Progressive Party (YPP).

He represents Pankshin North Constituency of the state.

NAN also reports that the new speaker, who represents Mikang Constituency of the state, was elected under the platform of the APC.

Zazzaga urged Daniel to unite with the state government and work for the interest of the state irrespective of political differences.

“This is not the time for fighting, Plateau is one and we must put our political differences aside and work for the growth and development of our dear state.

“This is why I’m urging the new speaker to support the Caleb Mutfwang-led administration to place the state on the path of steady progress.

“I urge him to also work closely with his other colleagues in the assembly by enacting laws and initiating bills and motions that would benefit our people,”he urged.

NAN also reports that Daniel is the third lawmaker to emerged speaker of the assembly in the last two years.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
