Suspected Thugs Disgrace Obaseki’s Cousin In Edo

The Chief Executive Officer of Hosamudia Farm, Don Pedro Obaseki, was reportedly stripped naked in Benin City, the Edo State capital, by suspected thugs.

Naijaonpoint learnt that Pedro, a cousin of former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, was attacked at Uwa Primary School, where he had gone to play football.

According to Punch, Obaseki was taken to the Oba’s palace and made to kneel at the gate.

The suspected thugs reportedly told palace guards that they had brought an Oghion (enemy) of the Oba.

However, some palace chiefs, who addressed the suspected thugs in Bini language, said the Oba had gone to the Holy Arousa Cathedral for a thanksgiving service to mark the end of the Igue festival.

One of the chiefs said, “Today is Thanksgiving Day at the Holy Arousa. We don’t want any trouble. If there is anybody that counts himself as an enemy of the Oba, allow him and see how he will end up.”

The chiefs later took Obaseki inside the palace, despite protests from the suspected thugs.

Meanwhile, Obaseki recently stated that politicians who enrich themselves after gaining power have failed God and the people.

Speaking via a video shared on 𝕏, he warned that God will punish political leaders who use their power to enrich themselves and their family members.

He argued that power is a divine responsibility that must be used in service to humanity and to glorify God.

He said, “If you are in politics to get power, and you get the power and it’s only for you and your friends and the people close to you, then God will punish you.

“Because if God has given you power, and you cannot use that power directly for Him, glorify Him, then I don’t see how you will do it.”

The former governor said he had no regrets about his time in office and would not change his approach if given the opportunity again.
