Consequence is speaking on the fallout of Kanye West publicly claiming that he did not rock with Talib Kweli’s raps.
During a 2021 Drink Champs interview, Ye said he “never f-cked” with Kweli’s music and said that at the time, it was “just easier for me to pose like a backpacker.”

He added, “I apologize once again to Kweli. I’m sorry I never f-cked with your raps.”
According to Cons, the remarks hurt Kweli.
“I’m a rapper. I know what hurt Kweli. What hurt Kweli was the fact that [Ye] said ‘I never f-cked with your raps.’ That was Agent Orange,” Cons explained.
He continued, “When you get that hurtful truth, that’s like if you break up with your girl and she tells you, ‘After all this time, I wasn’t really f-cking with you like that.’ It puts you in an Alfred Hitchcock movie. You’re like, where am I? This b-tch don’t f-ck with me? So he had to reconcile that.”
