The Chief of Army Staff, General Waidi Shaibu has visited troops of the Nigerian Army fighting against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in Borno State.

Shuaibu visited the troops at their camps in Maiduguri, Borno’s capital city during the weekend.

Charging the troops on the task ahead, the Army Chief said his visit is aimed at ensuring that the troops succeed in the various operations mapped out for the elimination of the insurgents who have been terrorising the Northern region of Nigeria.

He also said that all resources needed for the troops to succeed in the region have been provided by the government through the military.

His words, “Be rest assured that every resource will be provided to ensure you succeed. Is that clear?”To this, the troops chanted, “Yes, Sir!”

“Are you promising me you’ll deliver? You have done it before and this time, you’ll do it very well. Just because you have done it, now the challenge is yours, they are providing the resources for you to deliver.

“The current Boko Haram insurgency bedevilling the Northeast, this is your own time; are you assuring me that you’ll do your best?” Shaibu inquired of the troops.

He also stated that battle-ready, top officers of the Nigerian military have also been deployed to guide the troops to ensure unprecedented success in the fight against terrorism.

He added, “All combat enablers have been provided for you to succeed and I bet you, you’d succeed beyond your own expectations. You have the training to defeat the terrorists who have been disturbing in the Northeast.

“This time, we are going to do it differently, very battle-tested officers have been posted to the theatre, and new platforms have been introduced to ensure that you succeed in the operations.

“I am here to encourage you, to motivate you and to oversee what you’re doing,” Shaibu assured the troops.
