Teyana Taylor says her relationship with Kanye West is in a much better place than many fans might expect, years after she publicly expressed frustration with her time on G.O.O.D Music.
In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Taylor explained that while she does not co-sign everything West does or says, she has no interest in cutting him off.
“I don’t have to agree with everything that he do or say,” Taylor said. “But I’m not going to abandon him and be like, ‘Yeah, eff that motherf–ker.’ My brothers do s–t that I don’t agree with.”
Taylor further added, “If you want a real answer, you ask me,” she said. “If he asks me something, he knows he’s gonna get a real answer. I do my s–t behind the scenes and do what I need to do to help.”
The actress and former recording artist also says she keeps her focus on her own life rather than public controversies. “I’m in my business and I drink my water,” she said.
West signed Taylor in 2012, but she announced her retirement from music in 2020 after saying she felt overlooked and under-supported as an artist. Despite that chapter, Taylor believes growth and peace matter more than resentment.
