The Band Of Brothers Scene That Went Too Far

Near the end of Episode 9 (“Why We Fight”), the battalion discovers a very recently abandoned concentration camp. The inhabitants who remain are beyond emaciated. Many of the former prisoners are unable to walk around on their own and are forced to lean on others for help. Deceased people are everywhere, and the soldiers have to hold rags to their faces because of the overpowering stench of death. The battalion’s translator starts getting information from one of the healthier prisoners, informing the soldiers that their captors fled earlier that morning and murdered as many prisoners as possible before they left. In a particularly poignant moment, an old man stumbles up to one of the soldiers, hugging and kissing him with gratitude.

Needless to say, this scene is burned into the mind of everyone who watches it. A variety of Reddit users shared their feelings on the episode in a thread on the r/television subreddit. When u/shootstarpress binge-watched it for the first time, they said, “The concentration camp episode in particular absolutely shook me to the core.” Indeed, for many viewers, this scene stands out in a crowd of difficult-to-take moments throughout the series. In response, u/Lasky21 said, “The scene of the soldiers walking into the concentration camp had my gut aching.” “That concentration camp scene is so powerful,” u/Imagelicious_JK said. “I had to stop the show after the scene and cry for a few minutes. Just couldn’t continue watching right away.”

When it comes to a scene that so accurately portrays how harrowing the horrors of war can be, this is definitely one that takes it to the extreme.

How RHONJ Fans Really Feel About Margaret Josephs

“RHONJ” fans are divided in their opinions of Margaret Josephs, but on the r/realhousewives subreddit, many agree that she thrives on stirring the pot. Redditor u/Amp5181 wrote: “I’m pretty neutral when it comes to Marge. I dislike her and like her. I think Marge serves a purpose on NJ. She ruffles feathers with her words and gets under Teresa’s skin, and I can appreciate that.

The enduring popularity of the “Real Housewives” franchise can be attributed to many things, including the cast members’ lavish lifestyles, colorful personalities, and off-screen scandals, but most viewers tune in primarily for the drama. The Housewives branded by viewers as troublemakers tend to get more screen time than their less volatile castmates. “It took Marge a few seasons to get there, but she’s figured out if she can keep the rumors running on screen, she will maintain camera time and focus throughout the season without her mess being the subject of conversation,” stated u/mdadashi, who further speculated that as long as it allows her to remain on the reality series, Margaret doesn’t mind being perceived as the heel.

“I’ve said this many times that if these women stayed out of each other’s business, then we wouldn’t have a good show. We need them to use each other,” commented u/Lost-Iron. “Margaret is The bone collector. She delivers the bones,” agreed u/kazz 64.

Neil Patrick Harris Apologizes for Mocking Amy Winehouse at Halloween Party in 2011

Actor Neil Patrick Harris has offered an apology in the wake of renewed criticism over an image shared to social media in 2011. At the time, Harris was hosting a Halloween party at his home with his husband David Burtka. The party came just months after the sudden death of singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, who passed away in July of that year at the age of 27.

For their party, Harris and Burtka used dark humor to incorporate Winehouse into their Halloween party’s themed offerings. They had created a platter with beef ribs, pulled pork and chicken sausage in a spicy BBQ sauce they dubbed, “The Corpse of Amy Winehouse.” The food was arranged in such a way to depict the deceased singer with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth. One of the guests had shared an image of the platter to Twitter at the time, and in recent days, the photo has gone viral with renewed complaints against Harris.

Now, Harris has weighed in on the controversy with a statement released to Entertainment Weekly. The Matrix Resurrections star acknowledged that the photo was indeed from the party he’d hosted with Burtka, but admits that it was just as “regrettable” then as it is now to have made light of Winehouse’s death. Harris goes on to praise Winehouse for her status as an enduring music icon while apologizing for any offense that the situation may have brought to anyone.

Amy Winehouse was one of the world’s most influential and successful singer-songwriters, though her struggles off the stage had also been well documented. After years battling addiction, Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning in 2011. As she was just 27 years old, her death was made all the more tragic as fans can only imagine what else Winehouse may have done in her life and career.

The story of Winehouse will be told on the big screen. Last year, it was announced that Halcyon Studios will develop a biopic about the late singer based on Daphne Barak’s 2010 biography Saving Amy. Halcyon Studio CEO David Ellender said in a statement when the film was first announced, “Our team is honored to be working on this project. Although her career was cut far too short, Amy was the voice of a generation and we look forward to telling her story in the most poignant way possible.”

No one has been announced for the role at this time, but Stranger Things favorite Millie Bobby Brown has publicly campaigned for it. She previously told Netflix Latinoamérica, “I would love to play Amy Winehouse. I personally think she is like an icon to R&B, blues, and basically the whole culture of music. I just love her music and I really was impacted by her whole story. I always say that I would love to play her.”
