Created by Stephen Merchant and Elgin James, ‘The Outlaws’ is a stellar crime drama black comedy series packed with cat-and-mouse chases through graffiti-wash streets. The series follows a pack of seven small-time criminals from different walks of life. However, at the crossroads of the community payback service, they come together, and misadventures follow. They get their hands on a hefty cash haul, and things go sideways. Following its release, the BBC and Amazon Studios’ original series created headlines for diverse reasons – from its whitewashing of a Banksy mural on camera to its glorious depiction of Bristol. However, following the finale that aims to keep the comedy alive, you may be rooting for another season. If you are looking for its whereabouts, let us follow suit.

The Outlaws Season 2 Release Date

‘The Outlaws’ season 1 was released in its entirety on March 18, 2022, on Amazon Prime Video. The first season had its UK premiere on October 18, 2021, with the season finale being aired on November 22, 2021. Let us now talk about the development of a forthcoming second season.

As of January 2021, the original networks renewed the series for a second season, even before the first one went into production. The two seasons were shot back-to-back, while the pandemic situation largely confined the cast and crew within the studio. With the star-power of Christopher Walken and a charming ambiance that reminds one of the classic sitcoms’ Community,’ the show amply pleased fans and critics. Thus, while the second season remains in the later stages of development, we contend that a third may be on the way. Meanwhile, while the sophomore season does not have an official release date, ‘The Outlaws’ season 2 may premiere sometime in late 2022.

The Outlaws Season 2 Cast: Who Is In It?

The core cast members remain alive and within the story at the end of the first season. Thus, all of them may reprise their roles. In the central parts, possibly returning are Rhianne Barreto (Rani Rekowski), Darren Boyd (John Halloran), Gamba Cole (Christian Taylor imposter/Ben), Clare Perkins (Myrna Okeke), and Eleanor Tomlinson (Lady Gabriella Penrose-Howe). Also appearing in their respective garbs should be Jessica Gunning (Diane Pemberley), Stephen Merchant (Gregory Dillard), and of course, Christopher Walken (Frank Sheldon).

Additionally, we may see Charles Babalola (Malaki), Nina Wadia (Shanthi Rekowski, Rani’s mother), Gyuri Sarossy (Jerzy Rekowski, Rani’s father), James Nelson-Joyce (Spider), Aiyana Goodfellow (Esme, Ben’s sister), and Grace Calder (DS Lucy Haines). In the second season, taking up new roles are Jake Swift as the “Cool Boy,” Julia Davis as Rita, and Elizabeth Dulau as Lesley. The sophomore season may introduce additional cast members, but we leave it for further official announcements.

The Outlaws Season 2 Plot: What Is It About?

Although the creators went for a decidedly comic tone, the first season’s ending is not all pomp and glory. Towards the beginning of the first season, Ben (imposing as Christian) usurps a fat dough from the house of rival gang leader The Dean. At the end of the story, we realize that the Brookhill Crew of Ben’s home turf gives protection to The Dean. As Malaki explains later in the day, the money was tight, and he was not getting the fair share of business in his territory.

Esme shoots Spider, and Ben takes her to an Airbnb to lose the heat. However, the gang catches up to Ben in due time, and they come clean to detective Lucy Haines about the shooting incident. Ben takes all the charges and is ready to go to jail, but Spider survives the bullet wound. Owing to the ingenious plan of community payback supervisor Diane, Ben and the lot get 100 more hours of community payback service. In the final moments, Frank continues whitewashing over a Banksy mural.

In the follow-up season, things may go sideways once more. Through the first six episodes, the characters have become more complex. While the first season’s ending does a disservice to the characters by not bringing them out of their respective corners, it also keeps the fans rooting. The second season will possibly give us closure regarding Ben and Rani, as they may get more intimate. Rani may also go back to her Oxford degree, God willing, while Esme may finally understand the repercussion of her actions.

Esme may retake the exam she bunks the first time. She and Ben may even reunite with their ailing mother. Myrna re-enters her group at the end of the first season by employing a vote. Although, another police vehicle hijacking may cause her trouble. We would also see whether Gabby organizes her music festival and if she ends up with sad-sack nerd Greg. Lastly, Frank agrees to stay at home at the end of the first season, but the shifty old-timer may have another change of heart in the coming season.

Did Emmy Rossum Use Prosthetic Breasts for Angelyne?

‘Angelyne’ tells the story of the original Hollywood icon who is famous for being famous. Often called the billboard queen because of the many billboards around Los Angeles that sport her likeness, the show’s titular character remains famous for decades. In her appearance on talk shows and in interviews, Angelyne says she is whatever her fans want her to be.

The show attempts to recreate the actual titular Hollywood icon from the 1980s and 1990s, with actress Emmy Rossum essaying the role. The bleached blonde, noticeably busty figure of Angelyne seen on the show is a good likeness to the original despite the actress playing her looking quite unlike Angelyne to begin with. Let’s take a look at how Emmy Rossum turned herself into the titular character of ‘Angelyne.’

Are Emmy Rossum Breasts Fake or Real in the Show?

Actress Emmy Rossum actually spent years trying to bring the series to fruition after initially having the idea to essay Hollywood’s billboard queen, Angelyne. After crossing many a hurdle, including buying the rights to Angelyne’s life, trademarks, art, and punk-pop music catalog, all of which are present on the show, Rossum focused her attention on the transformative makeover that turned her into a convincing image of Angelyne.

In one memorable instance, the actress actually walked into a production meeting with her entire garb on. In a blonde wig and leopard-print arm warmers, Rossum interrupted the meeting and passed out rose quartz crystals while holding a peacock feather. To make her physique look like Angelyne’s, Rossum was clad in high heel stilettos and donned a massive 3-pound breastplate. So accurate was her rendition that a few people in the room actually thought for a few moments that the real Angelyne had walked in.

The heavy breastplate that Rossum wore for long periods took its toll, and there were multiple reports of the actress getting blisters from the fake breasts. She also developed tear duct issues because of the two pairs of contact lenses and copious eye makeup she would have to wear for most scenes. All of this resulted in the actress spending between four and five hours almost every day in the makeup chair. The actress also bleached her eyebrows for the role.

Rossum’s husband, ‘Mr. Robot‘ creator Sam Esmail who is also a producer on ‘Angelyne,’ claimed that there were times that even he couldn’t recognize his wife. While Esmail described the situation as kind of eerie, Rossum actually found looking completely unlike herself a liberating experience. “The physicality of the character was challenging. The body is heavy, yet it has to feel light and effervescent,” she told The Hollywood Reporter, continuing, “At first, it’s unnerving. But feeling lost gives way to this real liberation — from myself and the hang-ups that can impede a performance.”

Rossum delved deep into recreating Angelyne, purchasing the latter’s meditation tapes from eBay, and even meeting the titular icon to get her blessing for the show. Rossum claims Angelyne told her to tell the story she wanted to tell. Ultimately, the actress wants to make the show a love letter to Angelyne and has put substantial effort into recreating the glamorous icon, including donning 3-pound prosthetic breasts. The end result is a convincing likeness of Angelyne that aims to bring her distinctive and mysterious charm to screen.

Is Toscana Based on a True Story?

Mehdi Avaz helmed the Danish-English bilingual feel-good romance movie ‘Toscana.’ At the intersection of culinary genius and the natural splendor of the vast countryside, the film reminds us to follow our hearts despite the jitters. The story unfolds from the perspective of Theo, who, at the brink of an established Michelin-star-laden career in Denmark, returns to his village in Tuscany to sell his father’s sprawling mansion. The mansion is in bad shape, and Theo needs the money to save his restaurant.

In the meantime, Theo meets Sophia, an unapologetic attendant at the modest restaurant of Theo’s father. As they are drawn closer, Sophia shows Theo the beauty of a more simplistic way of life. The ending is subdued and serene, in accordance with the rest of the movie. Beautifully shot, poignantly written, and with a calming progression, the film manages to make something unique and refreshing out of its moderately conventional development. However, you may wonder whether the movie is based on a true story. In that case, we have your back.

Is Toscana a True Story?

No, ‘Toscana’ is not based on a true story. However, the feel-good ambiance and the culinary extravaganza lend the movie a magical attire, and its insistence on staying in the present gives the story a universal charm. Mehdi Avaz directed the film from a story he penned with acclaimed screenplay author Nikolaj Scherfig of ‘Heartless’ fame. With brothers Misam and Milad Avaz, Mehdi forms a dynamic trio. The Avaz brothers made quite an uproar with their 2017 breakthrough success, ‘While We Live.’ Two years later, Mehdi helmed a drama named ‘KOLLISION,’ which wowed the audience and the critics, selling nearly two hundred and fifty thousand tickets.

In 2020, the brothers teamed up again to release their dream-project, TV 2 Zulu crime series ‘Alfa,’ which was a rating magnet in the network. Following the series, the brothers parted ways to rear their visions while helping each other. Mehdi’s life and focus were drastically changed when he became the father of two frolicking boys and the urge to enjoy life figures in the movie. Consequentially, ‘Toscana’ marks the first feature film for the director with a life-affirming charm. As the director preaches in his own words, ‘They must dare to give in, re-saddle and let new people in.’

The movie aspires to make us believe in ourselves and propel us to make the best of a situation. It aims to show that all the struggle and effort you put into bettering your heritage and community is worth it. As we are in a world that seems averse to change, we should also remember why we must root for art, do what we love, and remember the past. The resulting soiree is vulnerable, honest, and touching. In part, the movie’s charm lies in Anders Matthesen, as it features the famed comedic actor in a role out of his comfort zone. However, the actor proves that he is comfortable with a vast range of emotions, as he commendably brings out the essence of the character.

Apart from the star present, however, the movie shines in its comprehensive depiction of Tuscany, with lights, life, people, music, dance, and food. The dishes, especially the first dish that Theo makes with bacon, come off as art pieces. We do not know about Anders Matthesen’s cooking skills, but the production took the help of a famous chef to pull off the magic on the plate. Thomas Herman, who has achieved global fame from his work at La Broche in Madrid, Arzak in San Sebastián, Falsled Kro, and King Hans Kælder, joined the team as a food consultant. Therefore, the movie crafted a magical ambiance grounded in mundane realism as all the ingredients fell in place.
