The special edition Hyundai Ioniq 5 First 100 celebrates the first cars to roll off the HMGICS plant

At the Singapore Motor Show 2023, Hyundai is showing off the first Ioniq 5 cars to roll off its new HMGICS (Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre in Singapore) facility in Jurong, Singapore.

The first cars will go on sale later in the first half of this year. And to commemorate this milestone, Hyundai is offering 100 special edition cars called the Ioniq 5 First 100.

Essentially, these are Ioniq 5 cars of the highest trim level and spec, and with some special touches.

Firstly, these cars will come in Gravity Matte Gold and will feature Dark Pebble Grey interiors. One way to tell them apart from the other regular Ioniq 5s is that they will have a “First 100” badge on the rear. Also, the seats are debossed with a special First 100 logo.

The special "First 100" badge.

But perhaps the most special thing about them is that customers will be able to bid for a unique number plate that bears the EVS prefix. EVS is short for Electric Vehicle made in Singapore.

These plates will run from EVS 1 to EVS 100 and the monies from the auction will all be donated to charity. The company hopes to raise S$400,000.

As for the car itself, it has dual electric motors with a combined power output of 321hp and 605nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.1 seconds and it has a 77.4kWh battery with a claimed range (WLTP) of around 454km.

Availability and pricing

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 First 100 edition is available now and is priced at S$147,800 excluding COE and the special EVS number plate.

Bidding for the EVS plate starts at S$1,000 and the auction closes on 19 January 2023, 6pm.
