Super Eagles and Rangers striker, Cyriel Kolawole Dessers, has admitted his side will not cower to their opposition when they face on Thursday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Scotland-based side begin their Europa League journey with a trip to Eleda Park, Sweden to face Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s former club, Malmo FF.

Zlatan progressed through Malmö FF’s youth academy and came to the limelight in the 1999/2000 season when he played for the first team under Roland Andersson.

Dessers helped Rangers top their Europa League group last season, including brilliant individual displays against Betis home and away and the Nigerian is looking forward to getting back into Euro action after Philippe Clement’s side fell short of UEFA Champions League qualification.

“We have a beautiful, but hard draw, but these are the games you want to play in Europe. Malmo away is not an easy start, but we are excited and looking forward to that. Hopefully, we can put in a good performance and win,” Dessers told the club’s official website after bagging a brace against Dundee FC in their League Cup clash.

The former KRC Genk man scored 22 goals and provided nine assists in all competitions for Rangers last season, but increasingly came under fire for inconsistent performances.

However, he’s gotten off to a flying start this campaign, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in nine games for the Gers. His goals will be pivotal if the record Scottish Champions are to go far in their UEFA Europa League campaign this term.
