Veteran Nollywood actor Roy De-Nani has opened up on the difficult moments he faced in the movie industry and the painful family tragedies that affected his life over the years.

Speaking during an appearance on the Where is the Lie podcast, the actor said his acting career suffered after he was allegedly stopped from getting movie roles.

Naijaonpoint reports that he explained that there was a period when producers suddenly removed him from projects even after filming had already started.

According to him, some filmmakers cancelled his involvement in movies because of an instruction allegedly given against him within the industry.

Roy De-Nani also spoke about losing his brother and said he felt abandoned during that period.

He disclosed that none of his colleagues in Nollywood came around to support him after the death of his sibling, a situation that left him deeply hurt.

The actor further shared the painful story of losing both his son and daughter.

He explained that the children were living with sickle cell disorder and needed regular blood transfusions to survive.

However, due to financial difficulties, he could not continue paying for the treatment they required.

He said the lack of money made it impossible to provide the medical care needed to keep them alive, leading to the death of both children. The actor added that he did not receive help from the movie industry during that difficult period.

Despite the painful experiences, Roy De-Nani said he believes many people may not fully understand what he went through because they have not personally faced such situations.

Roy De-Nani became known in Nollywood during the early years of the industry’s growth in the early 2000s.

He appeared in movies such as Hatred and Long John, which helped build his presence in Nigerian cinema during that era.
