The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has warned the Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, David Mark, Interim Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, and former Rivers governor, Rotimi Amaechi, over their claims that Nigerians are angry with President Bola Tinubu. Wike accused the trio of using Nigerians to play politics and criticized their past records in office.

Speaking during a media chat in Abuja, Wike questioned David Mark’s eight-year tenure as Senate President, asking if Nigerians were happy during that period. He also accused Rotimi Amaechi of pushing Nigerians into foreign loan debts during his time as Minister of Transportation. “I heard David Mark say they want to rescue Nigeria, Nigerians are angry. He was Senate President for eight years, were Nigerians happy?” Wike asked.

Wike further asked what contributions Mark, Aregbesola, and Amaechi made during their time in office to warrant their current claims. “History will hold you responsible. When in position, what was your contribution in making sure we are where we are today?” he said. The minister also referenced the collapse of Air Nigeria, questioning what happened to the airline.

Wike’s remarks are the latest in a series of exchanges between him and the ADC leaders, with Wike challenging their credibility and motives.
