Popular Plateau State cleric, Ezekiel Dachomo, has claimed that a bounty has been placed on his life following his outcry over alleged Christian genocide.
In a recent interview with Lucky Udu, he stated that terrorists have vowed to reward anyone who successfully puts an end to his life.
He, however, stated that he is not afraid of death, adding that he walks past territories of Muslims unharmed.
“They have put a bounty on my head. They said anyone that kills me first will be rewarded. I’m not afraid of death. I walk past the territory of Muslims and they usually point at me”, he said.
Dachomo also alleged that his children are being denied admission into universities, especially in the North, due to his stance on the genocide.
“If my children look for admission in the university, when they see the name Ezekiel Dachomo, they will remove it”, he added.
Meanwhile, Dachomo has stated that the continued killings in Plateau State and other parts of Northern Nigeria are the reason National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu and Vice President Kashim Shettima should be removed from office.
Naijaonpoint reports that the cleric described the violence as a political and ideological agenda enabled by state failure.
Speaking during an interview with Chude Jideonwo for a #WithChude special filmed in Jos, the cleric expressed deep frustration with the federal government’s handling of insecurity, insisting that the continued violence reflects both incapacity and unwillingness at the highest levels of power.
Dachomo argued that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts are undermined by those responsible for advising him on national security.
He specifically criticised Nuhu Ribadu, saying the persistence of attacks exposes a failure of leadership.
“Ribadu claims to be advising on security matters, but the problem keeps increasing. He is a failure,” Dachomo said.
He questioned why an official he described as ineffective has remained in office despite worsening insecurity.
According to him, the continued killings, affecting both Christians and Muslims, point to an inability to protect citizens.
“If he says he is a Muslim, why did he allow Muslims to be killed?” he asked, adding that Ribadu is “not capable of the office” and describing him as “a fanatic.”
The cleric also called for the removal of Vice President Kashim Shettima, questioning the quality of advice being given to the President.
He challenged the federal leadership to demonstrate political will by issuing clear operational directives to the country’s security chiefs.
“If they want to prove me wrong, let the President give orders to Ribadu and Shettima, let them instruct the heads of security agencies to move into the bush,” he said, “Let us see if that order will be given.”
