As many of you know by now, Qualcomm announced its new flagship chip yesterday. Its name is the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and several smartphone OEMs made the stage too. HONOR was one of them, as the company not only announced that its upcoming phones will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, but the HONOR Magic7 Pro was also shown off on stage.

The HONOR Magic7 Pro was presented on stage during the Snapdragon 8 Elite launch

If you check out the gallery below, you’ll see some shots of the phone. It was presented by the company’s CMO, Ray Guo. Only the phone’s back design was shown off, of course. This was supposed to be a teaser, nothing more.

We already know the launch date of the phone too. The HONOR Magic7 series, most likely including the Magic7 and Magic7 Pro, will become official on October 30. That will be a China launch event, though. The global launch event will follow later on.

We don’t know when exactly will that happen, however, as HONOR moved up its release cycle. The HONOR Magic6 series was announced in January this year, initially. So… HONOR moved everything around.

The phone will feature four cameras on the back, including one periscope telephoto unit

In any case, you can clearly see that the HONOR Magic7 Pro will have four rear cameras. That’s one extra camera compared to the HONOR Magic6 Pro. HONOR will utilize a round camera island on the back, with some added design elements around it, similar to what the Magic6 offered.

The model showed off by Ray Guo is called ‘Moon Shadow Gray’, and it was also shown in a leaked teaser video, which you can see below. That teaser video also gives us a closer look at the phone. You’ll easily notice that one periscope telephoto camera sits on the back.

The phone is expected to deliver 6x optical zoom, and 100x hybrid zoom. 3D facial scanning will also be on offer, as was the case with the Magic6 Pro. A pill-shaped cutout is expected on the front.
