Nollywood actress and box office Queen Funke Akindele has unveiled her next blockbuster movie in celebration of her 48th birthday.
In a video posted on her Instagram page, Funke took fans and followers on a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her past project. The filmmaker stated that she felt fulfilled and thanked God for the grace to keep telling stories.
Funke revealed that her movie Behind the Scenes will premiere in December 2025. She urged her fans to expect something intriguing, captivating and powerful. She added that her latest project is close to her heart and she can’t wait for them to experience it.

Funke is currently the Queen of the box office as her 2024 Cinema movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa became the highest-grossing film of all time in West Africa with 1.6 billion. The filmmaker undoubtedly beat her previous record for A Tr!be Called Judah, which grossed over N1.4 billion.
The box office Queen had disagreed with a Twitter user who spoke out on her work ethic. The tweep revealed how she gets inspired by the award-winning filmmaker and stated that when she wants to rest, she remembers Funke is not resting and as such, continues her hustle. Disagreeing with her, Funke stated that she takes some time off to rest well.
Last year, the filmmaker had opened up on the hard times she experienced before rising to stardom. She counted herself as a testimony of believing in herself, saying she faced different challenges but learned to stand tall and encourage others because of them.
In an Instagram post, Funke had spoken about her passion for filmmaking and directing, revealing that as a perfectionist, she strives to ensure every detail is right.
The box office Queen, while sending a message to young creatives, admitted that her journey to success wasn’t always pretty, but it was worth it. Funke expressed how proud she was that she came from a place of hustle and hard work and advice to her junior colleagues.
