Tiffany Haddish scored a major ‘W’ in court after an arbitrator awarded her $95,000 in a lawsuit filed against her by her former friend, who accused the comedian and her team of defaming her.
“Trizah Morris’ name and photograph appeared in blogs and media reports available all over the world as the cunning, conniving, deceitful ‘ex-friend’ of Tiffany Haddish,” Morris’ lawsuit alleged.
Trizah Morris filed a lawsuit back in August 2023 against Tiffany and comedian Aries Spears for defamation for using her children in an inappropriate skit that went viral. The children, now adults, sued the comedians, but their case was thrown out.
Morris filed her own lawsuit, claiming the comedian defamed her and her children during an argument. Haddish’s attorneys accused Morries of extortion, which she denied but the arbitrator found that Haddish did not defame her and awarded the ‘Girls Trip’ actress $95,198 in legal fees.
Aries Spears was awarded $50,000 in fees.
