Popular Nigerian TikToker, Olumide Ogunsanwo, known as Sea King, has reportedly been rearrested in a court premises.
He was taken into custody for allegedly cyberbullying Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), during a live session in December of last year.
Sea King was arrested while appearing in court for a separate trial initiated against him by the police.
He was subsequently taken to the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja and later flown to Abuja.
Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore announced Sea King’s arrest in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.
He stated, “We just left the DIG Dasuki Galandanchi-led Federal Investigation Department (FID) of the Nigeria Police Force, where we met Olumide Ogunsanwo accompanied by police officers who had traveled from Lagos to take him into custody. Barrister Deji Adeyanju and Marshal D. F. Abubakar were present as lawyers representing Sea King.”
“To our surprise, they disclosed that Olumide’s recent ordeal stemmed from allegations of cyberbullying against Pastor Adeboye during a TikTok session he conducted in December of 2024.”
Sea King was initially reported in December 2024 for making insulting comments about President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in viral videos on social media. The police accused him of cyberstalking, treason, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
However, the magistrate granted him bail set at N500,000, with two sureties in a similar amount.
