Tinubu Government has moved to cancel Buhari’s Visa On Arrival Policy.
NaijaOnPoint Nigeria reports that the Federal Government has decided to end the Visa-on-Arrival policy, saying it is ineffective.
In its place, landing and exit cards will be introduced for travelers to complete before arriving in Nigeria.
The Visa-on-Arrival policy was introduced in 2020 as a short-stay visa issued at entry points.
However, in 2023, Minister Tunji-Ojo stated that the policy would only apply based on reciprocity.
This visa has mainly been available to frequent travelers, high-net-worth investors, and visitors from countries without Nigerian embassies.
The new system aims to improve entry procedures for travelers.
