PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has reiterated his dedication to elevating Nigeria’s pride and stature on the international stage, emphasizing that this responsibility was entrusted to him by Nigerians during the 2023 elections.
Returning to Abuja today after a two-week official tour of Japan and Brazil, Tinubu highlighted that every engagement and agreement during the trip was strategically aimed at generating opportunities that drive growth, create jobs, and enhance prosperity for Nigerians.
“It feels good to be back home in Nigeria after our recent engagements in Japan and Brazil. In 2023, you entrusted me with the responsibility of restoring our pride and dignity on the global stage, and I remain fully committed to that mission,” Tinubu said via his official X handle.
“Every handshake, every agreement, and every meeting is guided by one goal: to secure opportunities that translate into growth, jobs, and prosperity for Nigerians.”
During his visit to Japan, Nigeria deepened partnerships designed to attract investment in industry, technology, and human capital.
In Brazil, Tinubu’s discussions focused on strengthening ties in trade, agriculture, aviation, and finance, while fostering confidence in the Nigerian economy among international business leaders.
“This is the new Nigeria we are building together—a nation anchored in sustainable reforms that endure beyond rhetoric.
“A Nigeria confident abroad, resilient at home, and committed to creating value for every citizen, both locally and in the diaspora. The journey is not without challenges, but with unity of purpose and courage to reform, I firmly believe the best is on the horizon. God bless our dear country, Nigeria,” he added.
Tinubu’s return to Abuja was met by senior government officials, including the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and other ministers and advisers.
The President departed Abuja on August 15, stopping over in Dubai before attending the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama from August 20 to 22, where he also engaged with CEOs of Japanese companies invested in Nigeria.
Following Japan, Tinubu visited Brazil at the invitation of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, strengthening bilateral relations and economic partnerships.
