President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after his diplomatic engagements in Japan and Brazil.
Naijaonpoint reports that Tinubu attended the opening ceremony and plenary session of the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) on August 20 in Japan, and also held bilateral meetings, concluding with an interactive session with members of the Nigerian community.
Following the conclusion of TICAD 9, President Tinubu departed Yokohama for a stopover in Los Angeles before proceeding to Brazil.
In Brazil, Tinubu met with the country’s President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and senior Brazilian officials.
The two leaders held private discussions and oversaw the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering aviation, foreign affairs, science and technology, and agriculture, key sectors in Nigeria’s development agenda.
In a terse statement via 𝕏, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, stated that the presidential jet, which took off from Brasília International Airport Air Force Base at 12:57 p.m. (local time) on Wednesday, arrived in the early hours of Thursday.
A host of dignitaries and government officials welcomed President Tinubu.
Onanuga wrote, “President Tinubu returned to Abuja early on Thursday following trips to Japan and Brazil”
