‘Tinubu Should Not Be Compared With Great Leaders’ – Former Minister, Dalung

Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu is a dwarf in Nigeria’s political history.

Naijaonpoint reports that Dalung made the remark during an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Sunday Politics’ programme.

According to him, Tinubu should not be compared with great leaders like Saduana and Awolowo because great politicians make legacies and serve the people.

Dalung further challenged Tinubu to show results if he is indeed a great politician, as is being speculated.

He said, “Tinubu is a dwarf in Nigerian political history, and should not be compared with great leaders because great political leaders make legacies. They serve the people. They work for the people.

“If Tinubu is a great politician as being speculated, let us see this translated into action.”

Meanwhile, Dalung recently criticised the Federal Government over the ongoing trial of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), demanding that those allegedly involved in terrorism financing should also be prosecuted.

Naijaonpoint reports that Dalung made the remarks during an interview with Trust TV, published on Wednesday, while reacting to Malami’s arraignment by the Department of State Services (DSS) before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Dalung questioned the charges levelled against Malami, stating that if the former AGF is being prosecuted for allegedly refusing to prosecute terror financiers, then those individuals should also be on trial.

He said, “Listening to the charges on the arraignment of former Attorney General, I understood that he is arraigned for refusing to prosecute terrorist financiers.

“We need to have the terrorist financiers in this country arraigned and prosecuted. So, Senior Advocate Malami is arraigned for refusing to prosecute, where are the lists of financiers?”
