President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Saturday depart Abuja on a three-state visit covering Borno, Bauchi and Lagos States, before proceeding to Lagos to spend the end-of-year holidays.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, who outlined the President’s itinerary and engagements during the trip.

According to Onanuga, President Tinubu will commence the visit in Borno State, where he is expected to commission a number of projects executed by the administration of Governor Babagana Zulum in collaboration with the Federal Government.

He added that while in Maiduguri, the President will also attend the wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of a former governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and his bride, Hadiza Kam Salem.

“From Maiduguri, the President will move to Bauchi to condole with the Government of Bauchi State and the family of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the late renowned Muslim cleric and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood,” Onanuga said.

He recalled that the respected Islamic scholar passed away on November 27.

Onanuga further disclosed that following the condolence visit, President Tinubu will proceed to Lagos State, where he will spend the upcoming end-of-year holidays.

“He is expected to be the guest of honour at the Eyo Festival scheduled for December 27, among his numerous engagements while in the city,” the presidential spokesman stated.

According to him, the Eyo Festival, which will take place at the Tafawa Balewa Square, will honour prominent personalities, including President Tinubu’s mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, as well as former Lagos State governors, Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola.
