A support group, Tinubu Media Force (TMF) has countered claims from some opposition party leaders that the President was unconcerned about the nation’s security.

The TMF National Coordinator, Mr Gbenga Abiola, in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos, said that if truth must be told, President Tinubu’s administration had improved security in some parts of the country.

“President Tinubu’s commitment to security is evident in the bold steps his administration has taken to tackle insecurity head-on.

“Under his leadership, Nigeria has witnessed a paradigm shift in security management, demonstrating a level of commitment and urgency that’s unprecedented.

“The President has pushed for constitutional reforms to overhaul Nigeria’s national security architecture and implemented an integrated security strategy.

“He has also held detailed security briefings with security chiefs, directing comprehensive strategies to restore peace and security,” Abiola said.

Reacting to the recent killings in Benue, Abiola said that the President had taken decisive action to stem the ugly tide.

The TMF coordinator said that the President has directed security chiefs to implement his earlier directive to bring lasting peace and security to Benue.

He also ordered security agencies to act decisively and arrest perpetrators of the evil acts on all sides of the conflict and prosecute them, noting that special forces had arrived in the state on the President’s directive to quell the violence and restore order.

“The President has also cancelled all his schedules to pay condolences to the families of the victims, demonstrating his commitment to the welfare of Nigerian citizens,” he added.

According to him, the Governor of Benue has praised Tinubu’s swift response to the recent killings, acknowledging the President’s commitment to addressing insecurity in the region.

He described the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) regular claims that Tinubu was not concerned about insecurity as “rascality”.

“Their desperation to discredit the President’s efforts is evident, but the facts speak for themselves.

“President Tinubu’s actions demonstrate his commitment to securing Nigeria, and we urge Nigerians to reject the PDP’s propaganda, but recognise the efforts being made by the Tinubu administration to secure our nation.

“The truth will prevail, and President Tinubu’s legacy as a champion of security will endure,” Abiola added.

He condoled with victims of the Benue killings, urging them to repose confidence in President Tinubu’s ability to tackle the security challenges.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Tinubu is to visit Benue on Wednesday over the security situation. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
