There is a crack within the leadership of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), a platform for Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Naijaonpoint understands that rival factions have emerged within the Governors Forum.
According to Arise News, Imo State Governor and Chairman of the forum, Hope Uzodinma, has insisted that he remains in charge of the PGF alongside his deputy, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.
However, another bloc within the forum has reportedly aligned behind Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who are now leading a separate faction.
While neither faction has released a statement on the development, sources within the party said tensions had been building over internal leadership control and strategic positioning ahead of the 2027 elections.
The crack in leadership may also trigger fresh political calculations within the APC, especially as governors remain critical power brokers in the party’s national structure.
It would be recalled that amidst the uncertainty surrounding developments in the PGF, certain emerging reports claim the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has emerged the new Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), replacing Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma.
The Tanimu Turaki-led factional national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday held a strategic meeting with former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Jonathan had made the remark on Thursday while addressing a group of Nigerians who visited his office in Abuja to urge him to join the presidential race.
The former president told the group that contesting for the presidency was a serious decision that required broad consultations.
He said, “You are asking me to come and contest the next election. The presidential race is not a computer game. But I’ve heard you, and I’ll consult widely.”
The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned indefinitely the suit challenging the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) under former Senate President David Mark after the plaintiff requested that the matter be transferred to another judge.
Justice Emeka Nwite adjourned the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1819/2025 after counsel to the plaintiff, Luka Musa Haruna, informed the court that a letter had been written to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court seeking reassignment of the case.
According to Haruna, the letter requesting the transfer was dated May 4, 2026.
Before the adjournment, the plaintiff’s lawyer also informed the court that the Supreme Court had on April 30 dismissed an interlocutory appeal filed by David Mark against the proceedings.
He added that the apex court also vacated an earlier order of the Court of Appeal which had stayed proceedings in the substantive suit.
The application for transfer was strongly opposed by lawyers representing the defendants.
Counsel to the second defendant, Sulaiman Usman, described the move as “forum shopping and judge shopping.”
Also reacting, counsel to the fifth defendant, P.I. Oyewole, accused the plaintiff of attempting to invite the Chief Judge to “indulge in judicial rascality.”
In his ruling, Justice Nwite held that the court could not act on the transfer request without hearing all parties involved, noting that doing otherwise could breach the defendants’ fundamental rights.
House of Representatives aspirants on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) have warned that former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, would be held accountable if elected president in 2027.
Naijaonpoint reports that the aspirants said Obi could be removed from office if he failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians.
They spoke on Friday during a press conference in Abuja organised by NDC aspirants and members of the Coalition for the Protection of Democracy.
The briefing focused on plans to build what the group described as an accountable and people-oriented opposition platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
