Nollywood actress, Tope Osoba has been finally laid to rest in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, amid tears from family members, friends and colleagues.

The actress was buried on Thursday, following a funeral service held at Akesan Club, opposite Iperu Market, Iperu Remo.

Videos from the funeral ceremony showed emotional scenes as mourners gathered to pay their final respects to the actress.

In one of the videos, Tope’s body was seen being moved from the mortuary to the venue of her burial. Another clip captured the burial procession and the moment she was laid to rest.

The burial followed the completion of an autopsy on the actress. Actor Kunle Afod had earlier announced that the autopsy had been completed and that she would be buried on September 10.

Tope died on August 4, 2026, at the age of 40. Her death came after she had previously battled breast cancer and undergone surgery in 2024. She later announced that she had recovered and was preparing to return to acting.

Following her death, reports circulated online claiming that breast cancer was responsible for her death. Her family, however, rejected the reports and described claims about the circumstances of her death as false, speculative and unauthorised.

In a later statement, the family said Osoba had been dealing with emotional distress and health challenges in the period leading to her death.

Tope began her acting career in 2005 with Ijoya, after previously working as a dancer and video vixen. She gained wider recognition in 2009 after starring in Dayo Amusa’s Ogun Mi. She later featured in films including Gucci Girls, Accident, Ifedolapo and Igboro Ti Daru. She also ventured into film production, producing Ifedolapo in 2015.
