Tory Lanez is escalating his legal fight after claiming new evidence supports his appeal, following his conviction for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
After his first prison interview last week, Lanez’s legal team submitted a report to the court that challenges key testimony from his 2022 trial, according to TMZ.
The report includes findings from a software expert who reviewed Megan’s medical records from the 2020 incident. The expert signed off on claims of 60 fraudulent errors within the records presented at trial by former Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon.
Lanez, who is serving a 10-year sentence, has consistently denied guilt.
One issue cited is a missing document labeled “EVIDENCE,” which allegedly states that hospital security guard Derek Cervantes collected and transferred foreign bodies described as bullet fragments. At trial, detectives testified that no fragments were recovered and that medical records were fully provided to the defense. Lanez argues the report “puts that testimony into serious question.”
The filing also points to altered text, nonfunctioning QR codes, questionable signatures, formatting inconsistencies, and pages with conflicting dates and times. It further claims that about 300 pages of records were withheld from the defense.
Lanez addressed the matter publicly in an interview with NBC News, saying, “We were never given hundreds of pages that could have changed the outcome.” His attorneys also say the treating surgeon, Dr. Little, never testified and now cannot be located.
