Promising Norway-based Nigerian winger Daniel Job, who plays for Sarpsborg 08 is currently on the radar of Belgian top flight giants Anderlecht, Footynaija.com reports.

Job joined Sarpsborg 08 from Lagos-based academy Future Pro in February 2024. He joined the Norwegian side on an initial loan deal but was signed permanently after impressing the club.

However, Job’s time in Norway has been anything but smooth sailing. After struggling to secure regular game time in the Eliteseren, Sarpsborg 08 sent him out on loan to lower division side Egersund for the first half of 2025.

At Egersund, he produced four goals and an assist in fourteen games, showing consistent flashes of the talent that earned him a move from Nigeria to Europe and ultimately catching the attention of potential suitors.

As per Get Football News, Anderlecht now have the 19-year-old winger high on their transfer wish list. The Nigerian attacking talent has attracted considerable interest from the Belgian side and they are reportedly weighing up a move.

Will a move to Belgium be good for Daniel Job?

At this stage of his career, a move from Norway to Belgium wouldn’t be a bad idea for Job.

For a good number of Nigerian stars, the Belgian Pro League has consistently served as a great launch pad to a wonderful career in one of Europe’s top five leagues as well as the Nigeria national team.

Current Super Eagles stars who have towed this path include Wilfred Ndidi, Victor Boniface, Moses Simon and Paul Onuachu. Former Nigeria internationals such as Samson Siasia, Danie Amokachi and Sunday Oliseh also learnt their trade in Belgium.

If Anderlecht decide to firm up on their interest and poach Job from Sarpsborg 08, the promising youngster could well be on his way to becoming another Nigerian talent that will be announced by the Belgian Pro League.
