Troops Neutralise Scores of Terrorists, Rescue Dozens as Military Sustains Nationwide Offensive — DHQ‎

‎The Armed Forces of Nigeria have intensified nationwide offensive operations, neutralising scores of terrorists, rescuing kidnapped victims and dismantling criminal networks across multiple theatres between February 9 and 13, 2026.

‎The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, disclosed this on Friday in a statement made available to journalists on operational gains recorded within the week.

‎According to him, troops operating under various Joint Task Forces maintained “a high operational tempo across various theatres in furtherance of national security objectives.”

‎He said the Armed Forces remained “resolute in the execution of their constitutional mandate, with a deliberate focus on safeguarding the lives and welfare of our personnel while upholding the principles of professionalism, accountability, and respect for the rule of law.”

‎Maj.-Gen. Onoja revealed that troops recovered large quantities of automatic weapons, Rocket Propelled Gun tubes, machine guns, locally fabricated firearms and IED-making materials.

‎“Currently, our forces are conducting a blend of kinetic and non-kinetic operations aimed at neutralising identified threats, protecting citizens, and restoring normalcy in affected areas,” he stated.

‎He added,”Under Operation HADIN KAI, troops neutralised several terrorists across Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States, arrested eight suspects and rescued 11 kidnapped victims. Dozens more were eliminated in an ambush at Komala Village in Jere LGA of Borno State.

‎”Air interdiction missions also led to precision strikes in Chongolo Kura and Abbagajere, destroying terrorist enclaves and structures.”

‎MajGen. Onoja revealed in the North West, troops rushed terrorists, adding that,”Operation FANSAN YAMMA recorded multiple firefights across Zamfara, Kano and Katsina States. Several terrorists were neutralised, four arrested and two kidnapped victims rescued, alongside recovery of weapons and rustled livestock.”

‎According to him, under Operations SAVANNAH SHIELD, ENDURING PEACE and WHIRL STROKE, troops dismantled terrorist checkpoints in Kwara and Niger States, adding that oil theft network was foiled in the Niger-Delta region of the country.

‎”In the Niger Delta, troops of Operation DELTA SAFE destroyed nine illegal refining sites and arrested 11 oil thieves.

‎”They also apprehended a notorious IPOB/ESN suspect, Eze Adeire (aka Ikuku), and a gunrunner in Rivers State,” he stated.

‎The DDMO disclosed that troops of Operation UDO KA apprehended eight terrorists, among other laudable achievements in the South-southeast zone of the country.

‎”Operation UDO KA troops conducted cordon-and-search missions in Ebonyi State, arresting eight terrorists and recovering arms.

‎Maj.-Gen. Onoja conveyed the commendation of the Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede.

‎“The successes recorded reflect the unwavering determination, resilience, and sacrifice of troops,” he quoted the CDS as saying, assuring Nigerians of intensified operations nationwide.
