Troy Ave is once again in the headlines after security footage surfaced showing him pulling a gun and firing shots during what appeared to be a robbery attempt involving a close friend…but it was reportedly all just for the Gram.
The now-viral clip, shared by celebrity chef Geoff Cole, shows Troy Ave stepping out of a Bentley alongside Cole before things quickly take a turn.
A masked man can be seen approaching from behind and lunging at Cole in what appears to be an ambush. Without hesitation, Troy Ave draws a firearm and lets off several rounds, carefully avoiding Cole as he fires. The rapper then chases the would-be assailant down an alley.
1. He rolled the window down while getting out the car so we could hear the song
2. A real robber not getting that close
3. Troy Ave had a direct shot to his back. It’s almost impossible to miss that shotThese dudes are clowns https://t.co/D9Xe2PrXal pic.twitter.com/MDfaW78gQN

“I came home after Celebrating the success of a sold out Chef Fest with Love & support from all over the West Coast!” Cole wrote in the caption. “And a hater from the SAME CITY tried 2 take it all away! This the 2nd time but it WON’T be a 3rd! s/o 2 my BROTHER Ave for Holding it Down in a situation where most woulda RAN or FOLDED I’ll never let the hate stop Me from showing LOVE! Ima keep giving artists.”
Despite how real the situation looks, reports suggest it may not be what it seems. TMZ reports that insiders close to the situation deny that any actual robbery attempt occurred and claim Troy Ave didn’t fire live rounds. The San Diego County Police also told the outlet there were no reports matching the alleged incident.
