U.S. President Donald Trump has commended Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, describing her as a “very respected woman” during the National Prayer Breakfast held in Washington, D.C., today.

Trump made the remark while addressing attendees at the faith-based event, which drew political, religious, and civic leaders from around the world.

His comments underscored Tinubu’s standing and influence, drawing applause from the audience.

In his speech, the U.S. president acknowledged the Nigerian First Lady’s role as a Christian pastor in one of Nigeria’s largest churches, highlighting her pastoral background alongside her position as First Lady.

He noted that her presence at the event was a great honour and applauded her reputation.

The recognition placed Tinubu among prominent global faith figures at the gathering, which focuses on prayer, reflection, and discussions around leadership, governance, and national values.

The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual event held every February, bringing together members of the U.S. Congress, religious leaders, and international guests.
