The factional National Chairman of the opposition people’s democratic party PDP, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, has rejected a meeting held in the name of his faction with a resolution to support Governor Idris’s government in the 2027 elections.
The former minister, who responded to an enquiry sent to him via WhatsApp, responded in English and Hausa sentences: Shirmen banaza ne; we are not aware of the meeting”.
The meeting, which featured in an online medium, captured former minister Alhaji Buhari Bala and retired general Ishaya Bamayi, who were reported to have facilitated the meeting with a resolution to support the government of Dr Nasir Idris during the forthcoming elections in 2027.
Tanimu flatly denied being part of the meeting, describing it as a charade which his faction is not aware of; therefore, cannot approve what he is not aware.

Meanwhile, both Wike and Turaki-led factions of the PDP are yet to make public their governorship candidates as the 2027 polls close in.
