Tyrese Gibson opened up about life after his high-profile divorce from his ex-wife, Samantha Gibson.
In a livestream posted to Instagram and later deleted, the singer and actor urged people to stop neglecting themselves in the name of loyalty.
“I want you to take care of yourself,” Tyrese Gibson said in the clip. “I want you to do something uncomfortable, which is put your face mask on first before trying to help others.”
Tyrese compared his mindset to an airplane emergency, explaining how prioritizing everyone else left him depleted. “Everybody’s okay, right?” he said. “I’m messed up, I have nothing, and I’ve taken care of everybody. Does anybody care to notice?”
“I’m f**cked up, I have nothing left.”
Tyrese encourages people to pour into themselves first before trying to help others and says, “your life has a capacity.”

He went on to suggest that some people in his life have taken advantage of his generosity. “Loyalty has an expiration date,” he said, encouraging followers to let go of what he called “dead weight.” He warned that giving without limits can lead to burnout. “Every boat has a capacity,” Tyrese explained. “Your life has a capacity, and most of us are functioning beyond that capacity with nothing left for ourselves.”
The emotional message comes weeks after Tyrese said he felt “liberated” following the finalization of his divorce from Samantha Gibson. In a December Instagram post, he claimed he endured years of public scrutiny tied to legal battles.
