The Flying Eagles will test their readiness for the U20 AFCON with a warm-up game in Morocco against Benin, who they defeated in a close final of the U20 AFCON qualifiers WAFU B in May 2022.
Benin, packed with several Nigerian-born players, stretched the Flying Eagles in the final, but a sending off and a penalty award combined to give coach Ladan Bosso’s team the edge.
Flying Eagles have had to make changes to their travel plans to Morocco.
The Flying Eagles are in Group A (Egypt, Senegal and Mozambique), Benin are drawn in Group C with Gambia, Tunisia and Zambia, while South Sudan are in Group B along with Uganda, Central African Republic and Congo.
Flying Eagles Media Officer, Sharif Abdallah that Benin and U20 AFCON debutants South Sudan are scheduled to engage the team in warm-up matches in Morocco before they fly out to Egypt.
He further informed that dates for these matches are still under discussion as the Flying Eagles have had to make changes to their travel plans to Morocco.
