A fall of 1.24 per cent was recorded at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange on Tuesday, driven by the losses in the share prices of three companies.
These decliners were led by FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, which fell by N5.66 to settle at N61.34 per share versus the preceding day’s N67.00 per share.
Further, 11 Plc depreciated by N1 to close at N154.00 per unit compared with Monday’s N155.00 per unit, while UBN Property Plc declined by 8 Kobo to trade at 92 Kobo per unit, in contrast to the previous day’s N1.00 per unit.
The losses printed by the equities reduced the market capitalisation of unlisted stocks by N11.86 billion to N923.44 billion from N935.30 billion and shortened the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) by 9.03 points to 702.76 points from the previous day’s 711.79 points.
During the trading day, there was a surge in the volume of securities traded at the bourse by 3,040.40 per cent, as investors exchanged 961,465 units of securities against the 30,616 units of securities transacted a day earlier.
Likewise, the value of shares traded at the session ballooned to N24.4 million from the N737,554.00 posted on Monday, implying a 3,204.1 per cent increase.
In the same vein, the number of deals executed during the session rose by 125 per cent to nine deals from the four deals carried out in the previous trading day.
AG Mortgage Bank Plc ended the day as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 2.3 billion units valued at N1.2 billion, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc stood in second place with 687.8 million units worth N14.3 billion, while Lighthouse Financials Services Plc was in third place with 224.7 million units valued at N112.3 million.
CSCS Plc closed the trading session as the most traded by value (year-to-date) with 687.8 million worth N14.3 billion, VFD Group Plc was in second place with 29.1 billion units valued at N7.7 billion, while FrieslandCampina WAMCO Plc in third place has traded 16.8 million units worth N1.9 billion.
