The United States has delivered new military equipment to the Nigerian Army in Abuja to support the country’s ongoing security operations.

In a post by the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), seen by Dockaysworld, it was disclosed that the delivery reinforces the long-standing security partnership between both countries.

AFRICOM noted that the support is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s capacity to tackle terrorism, insurgency, and other security threats.

The delivery comes amid growing US–Nigeria military cooperation, including intelligence sharing and operational support.

... reads;

“U.S. forces delivered critical military supplies to our Nigerian partners in Abuja. This delivery supports Nigeria’s ongoing operations and emphasizes our shared security partnership. @USinNigeria”

Recall that in December, the United States launched targeted airstrikes against Islamic terrorist hideouts in Sokoto, operations widely reported to have benefited from Nigeria-provided intelligence.

In 2025, President Donald Trump had redesignated Nigeria as a country of particular concern, prompting a back and forth that culminated in renewed cooperation between other nations.
