The United States Department of Justice on Thursday released additional Federal Bureau of Investigation documents detailing interviews with a woman who alleged that US President, Donald Trump, sexually assaulted her after she was introduced to him by late financier and convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.
According to the Justice Department, the documents were not included in earlier congressionally mandated file releases related to Epstein because they had been mistakenly labelled as “duplicative.”
The newly released files have intensified political scrutiny, as Democratic lawmakers continue to investigate how the Trump administration handled documents linked to the Epstein case.
Naijaonpoint understands that the said documents contain summaries of multiple FBI interviews conducted in 2019 with the woman, who alleged that both Epstein and Trump sexually assaulted her when she was between the ages of 13 and 15.
During one of the interviews, the woman told investigators that Epstein took her to “either New York or New Jersey,” where he introduced her to Trump.
She alleged that Trump attempted to force her to perform oral sex on him during the encounter.
According to the interview records, the woman said she resisted the attempt and bit Trump during the incident.
The woman also told investigators that she and individuals close to her received threatening phone calls over the years, warning her to remain silent.
She said she believed the threats were connected to Epstein.
The FBI interview summaries form part of a broader collection of investigative materials related to Epstein, whose criminal activities involving underage girls sparked global outrage before his death in 2019.
President Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein-related allegations.
The Justice Department previously cautioned that some of the materials released in connection with the investigation “contain untrue and sensationalist claims against President Trump.”
Trump has maintained that he was not involved in any illegal activities related to Epstein.
Democratic lawmakers have accused the Trump administration of attempting to conceal details from the Epstein investigation that could potentially damage the president politically.
The controversy escalated on Wednesday when a US House committee voted to subpoena Attorney General Pam Bondi to testify about the Justice Department’s handling of the documents.
Lawmakers say the subpoena is aimed at determining whether any files connected to Epstein were improperly withheld from previous disclosures.
