US State Department admits jihad terrorism ‘still a pervasive threat worldwide’

Biden’s handlers’ administration has persistently lied to the American people and the world in claiming that “white supremacists” constituted the greatest threat the nation faces. It is refreshing to see them be more honest about the real threat.

“US State Department: Terrorism Still a ‘Pervasive Threat Worldwide,’” by Ken Bredemeier, VOA News, December 16, 2021:

Terrorist groups remained “a persistent and pervasive threat worldwide” through last year, the U.S. State Department concluded in a new assessment on Thursday.

“The United States and its partners made significant major strides against terrorist organizations,” the report concluded about Western anti-terrorism efforts through the end of 2020, the last year of former President Donald Trump’s White House tenure. However, it said “the terrorism threat has become more geographically dispersed in regions around the world.”

The report said that although the Islamic State terrorist group lost all the territory it had seized in Iraq and Syria, “the organization and its branches continued to mount a worldwide terrorism campaign, carrying out deadly attacks globally,” killing more people in 2020 than in any previous year.

The report said that al-Qaida and its affiliates faced the “significant” loss of two key leaders, yet their networks “continued to exploit under-governed spaces, conflict zones, and security gaps in the Middle East to acquire terrorist resources and conduct terrorist attacks.”

The State Department concluded that al-Qaida “bolstered its presence abroad, particularly in the Middle East and Africa, where affiliates AQAP, al-Shabab in the Horn of Africa, and Jama’at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin in the Sahel remain among the most active and dangerous terrorist groups in the world.”

In addition, it said, “Iran continued to support acts of terrorism regionally and globally during 2020. Regionally, Iran supported proxies and partner groups in Bahrain, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, including Hezbollah and Hamas.”

The report said senior al-Qaida officials “continued to reside in Iran and facilitate terrorist operations from there. Globally, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force remained the primary Iranian actors involved in supporting terrorist recruitment, financing, and plots across Europe, Africa, and Asia, and both Americas.”

The State Department report said the global COVID-19 pandemic “complicated the terrorist landscape, creating both challenges and opportunities for terrorist groups. While the pandemic disrupted terrorist travel, financing, and operations, terrorist groups adapted their approaches and appeals, using the internet to continue radicalizing others to violence and inspiring attacks worldwide.”

The Islamic State “exploited the crisis to reinforce violent extremist narratives, proclaiming to followers that the virus was ‘God’s wrath upon the West,’” the report concluded….

Mars Being Sued For Using Illegal Child Slave Labor to Make “WOKE” M&M’s and Other Candy

Did you know M&M’s have gone “woke”?

***FOLLOW US ON RUMBLE***

That’s right, the little candy-coated chocolates are now getting into the “gender-bender/feminist” progressive hogwash.

Just what we need, right?

Daily Mail reported on the stupid story, saying that the iconic M&M characters – ubiquitous in commercials for the chocolate candies for decades – are getting a makeover that the company claimed Thursday will fit them in a ‘more dynamic, progressive world.’

The changes, which will take effect immediately, gives the characters a more modern look to emphasize characters’ ‘personalities.’

The biggest changes appear to be to the two female M&Ms, the green and brown ones. Mars, the maker of the candies, has been criticized in the past for making the green M&M too sexy, and either pushing a rivalry or a possible flirtation with the brown M&M.

This is what the original “non-woke” M&Ms looked like:

Here’s the new “woke” M&Ms:

The solution appears to be the green M&M losing her stiletto boots in favor of sneakers and the brown M&M wearing slightly lower heels than before to what Mars spokespersons called a ‘professional height.’

Mars wants the green M&M to be ‘better represented to reflect confidence and empowerment, as a strong female, and known for much more than her boots.’

As far as the relationship between the green and brown M&Ms, it will be based on the two ‘together throwing shine and not shade,’ as a reaction to how the two have been at odds at times in promotional material.

If you think this is the dumbest stuff you’ve ever heard, you’re not alone. I am right there with you.

But the reason I am telling you all of this is because while Mars and liberals are fretting over the personality of a piece of candy, a really serious matter of life and death is unfolding.

Mars and other candy giants are being sued for “aiding and abetting” illegal child labor on massive cocoa plantations on the Ivory Coast.

Eight former child-slaves, who are now adults, are suing the candy companies.

The Guardian reported last year that eight children who claim they were used as slave labour on cocoa plantations in Ivory Coast have launched legal action against the world’s biggest chocolate companies. They accuse the corporations of aiding and abetting the illegal enslavement of “thousands” of children on cocoa farms in their supply chains.

Nestlé, Cargill, Barry Callebaut, Mars, Olam, Hershey and Mondelēz have been named as defendants in a lawsuit filed in Washington DC by the human rights firm International Rights Advocates (IRA), on behalf of eight former child slaves who say they were forced to work without pay on cocoa plantations in the west African country.

The plaintiffs, all of whom are originally from Mali and are now young adults, are seeking damages for forced labour and further compensation for unjust enrichment, negligent supervision and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

It is the first time that a class action of this kind has been filed against the cocoa industry in a US court. Citing research by the US state department, the International Labour Organization and Unicef, among others, the court documents allege that the plaintiffs’ experience of child slavery is mirrored by that of thousands of other minors.

Ivory Coast produces about 45% of the global supply of cocoa, a core ingredient in chocolate. The production of cocoa in west Africa has long been linked to human rights abuses, structural poverty, low pay and child labour.

A central allegation of the lawsuit is that the defendants, despite not owning the cocoa farms in question, “knowingly profited” from the illegal work of children. According to the submissions, the defendants’ contracted suppliers were able to provide lower prices than if they had employed adult workers with proper protective equipment.

Well, now we know who will make these more “progressive” M&M’s – a bunch of abused children. How “forward-thinking” of Mars, right?

But that’s okay. Liberals don’t really care what’s going on in the “real world,” as long as they have cute little candy symbols of their progressive lifestyle.

Mars has a section on their website talking about child slave labor and their so-called efforts to stop it:

For decades, we have worked in collaboration with others toward achieving sustainable cocoa production and a cocoa supply chain where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, human rights are respected, and the environment is protected. However, progress has been slow, and we believe that we and others must significantly step-up our efforts to drive the change that is needed. That’s why we launched our Cocoa for Generations strategy in 2018. Backed by an investment of billion over 10 years (2018-2028), our efforts are focused on protecting children, preserving forests and improving farmer income across our cocoa supply chain while also strengthening the viability of the cocoa supply in the future by helping farmers grow more cocoa on less land, diversifying their crops and income, and empowering women and communities.

Does anyone really believe children are not still being used as cheap labor to make “woke” candies?

Mars has no comment on the litigation, claiming they don’t talk about ongoing lawsuits.

NY Gov Says Kindergarten Students Wearing Masks Is Just Like Wearing Sneakers

Published

It’s no different from forcing your 5-year-old kid to wear shoes, according to New York Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul, when speaking on mandatory masks for kindergarten students.

“My kid had a breakdown over having to put shoes on to go to kindergarten,” Hochul stated during a news conference on Friday. “She got accustomed to school shoes. Adults struggle to adapt.”

The governor then stated that she is “looking forward” to lifting the mandates and acknowledged that “people are tired” of them, in an exchange that neither answered the reporter’s question nor set well with social media.

Radiologist Pradheep Shanker wanted to know where Governor Hochul’s mask was:

Rasmussen questioned Hochul’s sanity:

Since taking office as governor of New York, Gov. Andrew M. Hochul has dived headlong into murky waters. Hochul, who has been outspoken in her support for mask laws, came under fire in October when she was seen leaving a Broadway show without one.

This month, most school districts will no longer be required by law to wear face masks, according to the governor.
