An Israeli man and an American tourist were involved in a physical confrontation at a Manila airport after the Israeli alleged he was subjected to antisemitic insults
An Israeli man and an American man were involved in a physical altercation at an airport in Manila, Philippines, on Saturday after the Israeli alleged that the American had hurled antisemitic remarks at him. Footage shared on X showed the two men grappling on the ground before a passer-by and airport staff intervened to separate them.
The footage was released by Israeli writer and activist Hen Mazzig. In the video, the Israeli alleged that the American had called him a “baby killer” and told him it was “too bad Hitler didn’t finish the job”.
The Israeli said the remarks prompted him to act out.
After the confrontation, the American was seen in the footage saying: “You proved my point; you’re going to jail; you attacked me,” before referring to the Israeli man as a “piece of s***.”
Earlier attack on Israeli reservist in the Philippines
The Manila incident comes after an antisemitic attack against an IDF reservist at a cafe on Siargao Island in the Philippines earlier this month, according to the Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Ministry.
That incident also involved the phrase “baby killer”. The Spanish tourist involved allegedly accused the Israeli of “genocide” and threatened to kill him.
According to the ministry, the Spanish tourist initiated the physical confrontation after the Israeli tried to de-escalate the situation and asked him to step away.
