President Bola Tinubu has arrived at the National Assembly for the presentation of the 2026 budget figures to a joint sitting of the Senate and House of Representatives.

It would be recalled that the President had earlier written to the lawmakers, seeking their approval to present the 2026 budget proposal on Friday, 19th December.

Key officials of the National Assembly, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), among others, are present at the event.

The presentation was preceded by the rendition of the National Anthem.

The presidency had earlier on Friday confirmed that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) had approved the details of the 2026 budget proposal.

This was made known by the Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, in a post via his 𝕏 account on Friday.

According to him, with the FEC approval, Tinubu is now set to present the 2026 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly today, Friday, 19th December, 2025.

He wrote, “The Federal Executive Council has approved the 2026 Budget and it is now ready for presentation to the joint session of the National Assembly, this afternoon by the President, Commander In Chief, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.”
