The viral video showing personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) having a brawl with a driver around Abudu in Edo State has caught the attention of the management of the agency.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Assistant Corps Marshal of the Corps Public Education Officer, Mr Olusegun Ogungbemide, it was disclosed that an investigation has been ordered to determine the cause of the altercation.

It was gathered that the unfortunate incident, which has gained traction on social media, happened on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

The Corps Marshal, Mr Shehu Mohammed, in the statement, expressed deep concern over the incident, stressing that the FRSC does not condone any form of unprofessional conduct or behaviour that undermines the integrity and discipline for which he said the organisation was known for.

He further assured members of the public that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken against any officer found culpable, in line with the corps’ operational guidelines and public service rules.

Mr Mohammed also appealed to the motoring public to remain calm and continue to show cooperation and respect towards FRSC personnel who are committed to ensuring safer roads and protecting lives across the nation.

He warned that the FRSC would also not tolerate any form of assault or violence against its personnel from members of the public in the course of duty.

He promised that the FRSC remains steadfast in its mission to promote road safety, maintain order, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism in service delivery.
