Vivo recently launched the S16 series in China. The company launched three smartphones in the S16 lineup, namely the S16e, S16 5G and S16 Pro. The S16 and S16 Pro came to India with some tweaked hardware in the form of the Vivo V27 series. Now, it looks like Vivo is already working on the successor models of the phones. The Vivo S17 series launch has been tipped. A new leak has revealed the key specifications of the S17 series. The Tech Outlook report claimed that the company would launch three smartphones in the lineup.

Vivo is said to launch the S17, S17e and S17 Pro as part of the new S-series lineup. Let’s take a look at the Vivo S17 series specifications, features and other details known so far.

Vivo S17 Series Launch Timeline, Specifications Tipped

The Vivo S17 will feature three mid-range and premium smartphones in the lineup. The devices are expected to launch soon in China. According to the report by The Tech Outlook, the S17, S17 Pro and S17e have the model numbers V2283A, V2284A, and V2285A, respectively.

The report claims that some of the models in the lineup are likely to launch outside China in the form of the Vivo V29 series. It also revealed some key specifications and features of the phones.

The S17 series is said to feature a Super AMOLED display. All three models are said to sport a curved-edge display. In addition to this, there will be a colour-changing rear panel variant as well.

In terms of RAM and storage, the S17 series will offer up to 12GB of RAM. The base model will have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Select variants might get an 8GB + 256GB storage option, whereas some of the top-end options will offer 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The S17 Pro will be the only phone in the lineup to come with 16GB of RAM. There will be support for Extended RAM, as expected.

The phones are also expected to offer optical image stabilisation (OIS) support for the main camera. At the moment, details about the camera hardware, including the number of sensors is under wraps.

Vivo is said to launch the S17 series in the third quarter of 2023. This means that the phones could debut between July and September 2023 in China. We are still months away from the Chinese launch of the S17 series. Therefore, the India launch of the phones in the form of the V29 series will also take quite some time.

Vivo has not officially confirmed any detail about the launch of the S17 series. Therefore, we advise taking the leaked details with a pinch of salt.

The V27 series recently went on sale in India. The lineup comprises two models currently in India. There is the V27 Pro with a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC along with the vanilla model, which has a Dimensity 7200 SoC. Both phones come with a 50MP triple-camera setup and a curved OLED display.
